Pre-School Guidelines

Class Time: Begins with Circle Time at 8:30 a.m. We are dedicated to teaching and begin our daily routines on schedule. Please help your child arrive on time.

Meals:

Breakfast: Cold cereal and juice is served from 7:00 to 8:15 a.m. If your child brings breakfast to eat at school, we would like to encourage healthy foods. Donuts and sweet breakfast treats should be brought on Friday only. We will not save leftover or uneaten breakfast foods.

Lunch: For Little Bears and Busy Bees is served at 11:15. All other classes are served at 11:30. We may ask you to provide a sack lunch on special occasions throughout the year. However, please do not send sack lunches or personal snacks on a regular basis except for special dietary concerns.

Snacks / Parties: Snacks are served at 3:00 p.m. If your child will be having a birthday party at school, please notify the office the day before the party. Bring all refreshments or party favors to school the morning of the party. Do Not include balloons or suckers as party favors.

CHECKING IN / OUT: Parents are required to walk their children to class and notify a teacher of your arrival. Children are not allowed to enter or leave the building without adult supervision. Please do not send a brother / sister alone to pick up your child. PLEASE HELP US KEEP THE HALL SAFETY GATE LOCKED

Parking: Park only in a designated parking space. Avoid parking in the NO PARKING ZONES, areas by the entrances / exits. Never park by the front door. Turn off your car and lock the door. Never leave valuables in your car (purses, phones, and especially CHILDREN). Please ask your child to hold your hand on the way to and from the building.

EXTRA CLOTHES: Keep a complete change of clothes in your child’s cubby (including underwear). Label all clothing to avoid loss.

Medicine / Illnesses: We do not give medication at school. State laws do not allow us to accept or keep your child if he/she has a temperature, is vomiting, or has diarrhea.

Toys: Only soft naptime toys will be allowed.

MOVIES: We have a large selection of age-appropriate movies, so please do not allow your child to bring a movie to school.

TELEPHONE USAGE AND MESSAGES: Except for an emergency, a child or faculty member will not be called to the telephone during class time. You may, however, speak with your child’s homeroom teacher or request a conference during naptime 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.
